Hands of EncouragementA Story of Resilience and Giving:

Founded in 2017 by Shonda Miller, Hands of Encouragement is more than just a soul food business - it's a testament to the power of faith, perseverance, and community.

As a single mother of three, I once found myself homeless, residing in a Dover, Delaware motel. Despite the struggles, I never lost sight of hope. After securing my first home in 2017, I began cooking meals for those still at the motel, ensuring they had a hot meal on holidays.

My journey took a pivotal turn after 12 years of working at a local college, when new management led to my unexpected termination. It was then that I knew God was orchestrating a new path, one that would allow me to serve others through my passion for soul food.

With the support of my loving husband and children, Hands of Encouragement was born. What started as a labor of love has grown into a thriving business, spreading joy and nourishment throughout our community.

Today, we proudly continue the tradition of serving those in need, especially on holidays. We leave our full table to fill the homeless table with food, love, and encouragement. It's our privilege to serve, and we're grateful for the opportunity to make a difference.
